ABOUT THE BAND

Building the Lighthouse

The 4-piece band Lighthouse Mouse is one of the newest acts to come out of Brisbane post the Covid-19 pandemic. Although they are a recent addition to the city's live music scene, the group has already been praised for their energetic and engaging stage presence. Drawing inspiration from bands like Hockey Dad, The Arctic Monkeys, Mako Road, Crumb, and Spacey Jane, their members each add their own individual musical tastes and styles to the mix in order to create a refreshingly unique execution of their genre.

The band started with Conor Burke and Teddy (drums). Connor Raveggi (vocals, rhythm guitar) was introduced to the band as the guy who could "kind of sing" and upon jamming with the duo, was swiftly indoctrinated as the lead vocalist. The youngest member Bess Egerton (bass, backing vocals) auditioned a month after she had left school, originally for guitar. They played together until Coronavirus struck and when the restrictions were lifted, they were able to record and release their leading single 'Gharkey'.

Founding member Conor Burke left the group in early 2021 and Jack Robertson replaced him on lead guitar, only to then be replaced by the amazing Ethan Hickey of Yb.

This unique and exciting combo has had the band described as "mighty fun" by multiple listeners and Triple J radio program host Declan Byrne. Community Producer Abby Butler also writes (in regards to 'Gharkey'):

"Even one with the most severe case of musophobia would find something to love in this mix. that breakdown and build-up would be far too fun live, I just KNOW it." - Abby Butler

Lighthouse Mouse is releasing their debut EP 'Traces of Sugar' on November 20th, a product of 2 years working with star producer Dan Sugars. Now with a large number of professional gigs under their belt as well as a steady following, the band continues to build and solidify themselves into the Australian music scene.
